IDM Reflections 2019
Reflection:
Over the entire course of this semester, the insight and lessons learned are irreplaceable. The opportunity to meet so many people from the industry such as Hesham Hammond, Anita Lebeau amongst others, and the wisdom they have provided is remarkable. Not only that, but meeting them in a more casual setting, remained me that they are people as well, no matter how big their achievements are. Personally that alone is comforting and good to know because of the fact that people hype these industry professionals to the extent that the Industry Professionals appear too far out of reach. The advice given from their workshops have always given me something to keep in mind when animating, ie. keeping the intended audience in mind, prioritize your well-being over all else, the importance of being genuine ect. All these lessons have stuck with me as I worked over the duration of the semester. The only negative about all of these workshops, the number of them in the short duration of the semester was at times overwhelming especially when considering all 14 workshops had occurred in the timespan of 5 months. Other then that, the workshops were wonderful and life-changing.

The working environment over the course of this semester was remarkable. With the class as a whole, the friendly and collaborative environment had played a significant roll in making the classroom a cozy yet professional work environment  As everyone was working on their own group projects, we were all also be able to have fun after all the work was done. Working on the Aftermath was wonderful as well, albeit some personal issues interfering with my work and the group. The fact that my group had been understanding of the personal issues had made a significant impact on me personally. Also being able to work in a collaborative environment has taught me the importance of transparency on the task in order to prevent the development of drama within the group, and through such, had given me insight and helped develop my communication skills due to the immense amount of collaboration through the entire process.

Role(s) in The Aftermath:Co-Director, Writer, Story-boarder,                 Animator, Co-Social Media handler
